What to Expect

If you are considering attending one of our services, we want to make your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible. Trying a new church can be a little frightening.  Coming to a church for the first time ever, can be terrifying.  We hope the questions and answers below will prepare you for your visit.  If you have any further questions, please call or email us.  No prior church experience is required.

How should I dress?

Come casual. Most wear jeans, a pair of khakis, or business casual; whatever is most comfortable for you.

What happens during the service?

In a typical service we spend about 20-25 minutes in a time of praise and reflection that includes songs, readings, and prayer.  Then we listen to a time of teaching for about 20-25 minutes.

Most Sundays we also participate in the sacrament of communion, which is a time to reflect upon Jesus' sacrificial love by remembering his last supper with his disciples.

If any of this sounds overwhelming, don't worry.  You can simply observe and ask questions later.  You won't be singled out or forced to do anything.

We typically finish in one hour.  I believe you'll be blessed by joining us.

What about my children?

All children are welcome in our service.  On those occassions when the little ones become restless we do have a family room where you can listen to the service. We also have childrens church (kindergarten through 4th grade).  Children's church begins afer our time of singing and prayer.

Will anyone single me out or embarrass me?

No. You won't be asked to do anything that will make you feel uncomfortable. We'll greet you warmly, help you find your way around, and answer any questions you might have. A simple guest form is available to give us a brief record of your visit if you choose.

What kind of church is Christ Community?

We are a part of the Church of the Nazarene which is organized in over 100 countries. The mission of the church worldwide is a strong and continuous effort to fulfill the command of Jesus--to take His Gospel to all of the people. (See www.nazarene.org for more information).
